| 08/31/05 Homecoming Update Dear Families and Friends of the 1438th, Well the time has finally come and the FRG is busy planning the Welcome Home Ceremony for the soldiers. We do not have final dates and times because it could change but would like to share the approximate date at this time for our families far away to be able to plan. We are asking the families to arrive at the Gayle-Bullman Multipurpose building at the UMR campus in Rolla at 10:30 am on September 21,2005. Please check the website often now in case of changes that could come up. At that time we will be giving out Hero Packs to the soldiers children donated by the Child Development division of the 4-H. And then will be awaiting the arrival of the soldiers into the gym. The Commander has already mentioned in his latest newsletter that families do not go to Fort Hood Texas as the soldiers will be very busy going through redeployment as quickly as possible to get home to us. And would ask the same when the soldiers arrive in Rolla the families do not go to the Armory as space is limited and the soldiers will be working hard to get away to the Gayle-Bullman, have the ceremony and go home to their loved ones. Please be kind and considerate to all the families waiting patiently to see their loved ones after all these months. The FRG will provide light refreshments and entertainment for our wait. We will be presenting the soldiers with their gifts, give them important information on upcoming events and recognize the FRG members for their hard work and then turn the Company over to the Commander for dismissal. I will update information as it comes in from the Commander and post it on the website as a Homecoming Update. Please watch for these and feel free to call me with any questions. Thank you!
