Two roads diverged in a wood, and I –
I took the one less traveled by,
and that has made all the difference. The Road Not Taken-Robert Frost

I’d like to thank all the soldiers who have chosen the less traveled road and made the decision to do the hard job and serve our country.

Greetings from beautiful Kuwait. Things here are really not too bad. Our trip over seemed to take forever, but it was really only about 31 hours between the times we left Ft. Leonard Wood and arrived at our Camp here. We had a layover in Shannon, Ireland. Ireland was pretty, but we were not allowed out of the airport and they have recently outlawed smoking in the airport much to the dismay of some soldiers.

It has been hot, high around 100 this week, but it is a dry heat. .

Our address has changed a couple of times so far (and be prepared for more of that in the future depending on where missions take us) but for now, send mail to:

Your soldiers name
1438th EN CO
APO AE 09331

There has also been a lot of discussion over return addresses on packages. Our best solution was to use the units mailing address as the return address. That way it solves the problem of providing a return address for the post office without disclosing the addresses of soldiers and their loved ones. Here they are:

Rolla Warrenton
210 Fairgrounds Rd. 1 Armory Dr.
Rolla, MO 65401 Warrenton, MO 63383

This coming week we are picking up our equipment from the port and preparing it for the convoy into Iraq. We will also conduct some weapons fire and additional training while we are here.

Thanks again to everyone who has been so helpful and supportive of all the soldiers since we received our original alert order. We have come a long way and are prepared to do our mission.
